Join together in community to honor the late Pope Francis and commemorate the end of Earth Month. Attendees will have an opportunity to read passages from Pope Francis’s landmark 2015 encyclical, Laudato Si’: On Care for Our Common Home.

Join together in community to honor the late Pope Francis and commemorate the end of Earth Month. Attendees will have an opportunity to read passages from Pope Francis’s landmark 2015 encyclical, Laudato Si’: On Care for Our Common Home. The complete text is available here, and a selection of excerpts will be provided. A moment of silent reflection will follow the reading of each selected passage.
Professor David Voelker, the Frankenthal Family Professor of Humanities & History at UWGB, will facilitate this event. Professor Voelker teaches early American history and environmental history and humanities. He has led workshops on contemplative pedagogy and reflective dialogue, and his current research includes the Earth Charter.
